great performance, great atmosphere, we showed loads of character tonight against a good side and a ref, who most of the game tried to spoil it by being too picky. congratulations to the team for almost bringing home the trophy.....1 game to go

I enjoyed the game last night - credit to both teams.

Nottingham didn't seem interested in the 1st period and I looked a bit intimidated.  As the period went on I bagan to wonder if Warriors might regret wastring some good chances to score.

Nottingham looked a different side in the 2nd and I thought thet deserved to go ahead and were maybe a bit unfortunate to be level at the end of the period.  I thought Richie Thornton set up the equaliser brilliantly.

The 3rd period saw both teams dominate for periods and I don't think anyone would have fancied betting their mortgage on the result.  When warriors got the early goal I did think they would run riot but credit to Lions for fighting back.

This bit might make me unpopular but I thought the winning goal was a bit dubious.  It looked to me that the Lion's netminder was pushed into the back of the net before the puck was put in.

In genereal I thought the ref and linesman did a good job.  I thought Reynolds was outstanding for Warriors and the Lion's netminder had a very good game.  I thought over the 60 minutes it was pretty even and if anything Nottingham just edged it.  Good atmosphere from the biggest crowd I've seen in Hillheads for a while.

I can't see Warriors letting it slip now so many congratulation on being Champions.

As I posted on the other thread, we didn't think it was a goal either - especially as we had a goal disallowed in Coventry in very similar circumstances

Cracking atmosphere as you say and let's hope they all come back for the Kingston game and the play offs.  It's been a long time since I have had to stand in a queue to get in, long may it continue.  I thought the Nottingham fan was quiet though!!  Wink

Are you both forgetting the matter of the Warrior player getting tripped as he passed the puck to dunny to smash home? That may have helped the goal stand. I looked at Emmerson when it went in and he thought about it for a second before giving the goal.  I believe the puck hit the net just as the netminder fell back onto it. Hell would have broke loose if he had not give it and giving a pen instead. Maybe even given a pen shot.  But I suspect we are all wearing our rose tinted glasses now.  Wink Grin

The last goal was fair and square as far as i am concerned.  It was over the line before the keeper went backwards.  And yeah, there was a trip too bez.  Maybe thats why Mr Emmerson thought for minute before he gave it.  We had our first goal disallowed in Trafford the night before in similar circumstances.  In that case, the ref was again Mr Emmerson and as the puck crossed the line their keeper kicked the net off and as a result our goal was disallowed. Even though it was over the line at the same time as the net was kicked off.  At the end of the day the ref is the man who decides.  Even if Bryans goal on sunday had been disallowed, i still think we could have got the winner, even in the little time we had left!!

Sorry to contradict you but I was behind the goal and the puck was no where near crossing the line when the net was dislodged. Mr Emmerson and the goal judge got the call spot on.

Ah well you were in a better position than me but apart from that, someone from traffords team said that the goal should have been allowed.  Makes no difference now anyway, we won and thats all that matters  Wink
