I wanted to put this up so that the kids get the recognition they deserve.
On Sunday we attended the annual Under 10's Hockey Jamboree at Ice Sheffield (hence me missing the game - thanks Dev

). Now I wasn't really looking forward to this as last years effort wasn't great, but I am so glad we attended. The event was much better organised from the second we arrived. The kids just had a ball all day.
The games were fast and furious cross ice affairs all day from 12 till gone 4 and the kids were bushed after a full day of hockey (normally only getting 15 minutes rest in between 15 minute games). Every Whitley kid applied themselves 100%, even though some of them didn't play in teams with their mates from t'Bay. It was just so lush to watch them play so well and make some new mates from all over the North area.
I'm so proud of every one of the little guys and though they conducted themselves amazingly both on and off the ice when they were so obviously knackered.
Well done kids!
Also well done to Newcastle Academy who did a lot of work to help out and organise the day, it was a great success (runs off to hide as he can't believe he just said that

).
